James Whittaker

James brings over 25 years of expertise in the Global food and retail industries to drive operational excellence, compliance, and growth for brand owners. 

James holds a Master Degree in Food Science from the University of Bristol, and has held senior roles in food and retail including Technical Director at Boparan Private Office, where he led manufacturing standards, innovation, and crisis management working with all major UK retailers; Director of Technical for Fresh Foods at Sainsbury’s, spearheading product safety, sustainability, and category strategies; and Head of Quality and Responsible Sourcing at Coles Group, where he led the quality reset strategy as well as responsible and ethical sourcing programs.

James’ global experience spans the UK, Australia, and USA, focusing on food safety, quality, supply chain optimization, sustainability and technical innovation, making him instrumental in helping MSAC Solutions enhance traceability, regulatory compliance, and supplier engagement for retail and corporate clients.
