The Problem

To replace our existing 14-year-old PLM application, we were looking for a new PLM application based on “up to date” technology (SAAS mode, compatibility with all browsers, interfacing by API). We were also looking for a partner offering a long-lasting solution, constantly evolving with regulatory constraints, having a broad functional coverage and integrating, in addition to the specifications section, a project management module as well as a labelling development module.

Finally, we wanted to find a software that was easy to use, well organised and adapted to our teams, which would allow us to reduce the time to market for our products.

The use of glossaries, chosen with our teams, standardises the data and facilitates the proofreading of documents.

The support from MSAC Solutions was an asset as they managed the entire ORBC implementation. Also, the MSAC teams know ORBC perfectly. Our MSAC trainers were the best able to advise us on the setup, with many years of use of the system on both the manufacturing and retail side. The advice that was given to us was therefore perfectly adapted to our needs and that will allow us to save as much time as possible in the future.

MSAC also took care of training our internal teams through online training. This format allowed everyone to interact freely with the MSAC trainers. Various workshops were then held throughout the software implementation so that all our teams were operational from the launch of the software in “production” mode.

In addition, the MSAC support team is engaged with our suppliers to train them in the use of the software and answer any questions and / or difficulties they may encounter.

This support for manufacturers demonstrates the commitment and professionalism of MSAC in the implementation of the software since the success of our long-term collaboration depends on their effectiveness in this support and the choices made during the implementation.

Finally, our respective teams have been able to bounce back from the exceptional situation linked to COVID-19, by using current collaborative tools and by creating a new e-learning training module.

This allowed us to carry out all planned meetings and training remotely without impacting the system implementation times.

The outcome

Despite the COVID-19 health crisis, which severely slowed down the activities of most companies around the world, MSAC Solutions completed the ORBC implementation on schedule. Our teams have been able to work together and MSAC has adapted its methods to maintain good communication and maximum efficiency despite several thousand kilometers between France and Australia.

In conclusion, the training of our teams was carried out effectively and everyone was able to take ownership of ORBC and be able to use it to its full extent. Our suppliers have access to a skilled support team that is perfectly suited to their needs. ORBC is now functional and will allow us to maximize the efficiency of our teams and to remain competitive over the coming years.
